My name is Kate and I have lived locally and worked in this area all of my life. I am a mother to 1 little boy (Oct 2011) and expecting my second arrival summer 2013. Being a mum is all I’ve ever wanted and I love every minute of it.
I have had experience of working with children since I was 15 years old, starting off with babysitting and volunteering at my local pre-school. After leaving school I spent a number of years working in operating theatres, assisting with caesarean sections and looking after children who came down for operations. I then went on to do my BTEC National Diploma in Early Years, where I gained experience of working at primary schools and nurseries. Since completing this I have worked at a local nursery with children ranging from 3 months to 5 years.
Over the years I have noticed through talking to expectant parents and friends that there seems to be a lack of information. The main part I enjoy about teaching BabyNatal classes is helping expectant and new parents learn that they have a choice. It’s really important to me that parents are aware that their instincts are usually the best guide and that trusting them will help them become more confident parents.
